The first time I saw my dad cry.

Good Evening Precious souls,

So many of you know I started this blog as a fun way of showing the world a lighter side of Imam Siraj Wahhaj and his family. Everyone knows and loves the inspirational, profound, eloquent, world renowned speaker and spiritual leader, but many don't know the cool, laid back, hilarious, fun Imam Siraj like I do. So I wanted to reminisce with you about the very first time I saw my dad cry.

One of my older sister's was getting married and of course dad was the Imam of ceremonies, and father of the bride. Well, during the ceremony all the guests began to get choked up. It was so emotional knowing that my sister had found her Soul Mate. My sister was the last to believe in Soul mates, but when she found her (now husband), she knew instantly that they were meant for eachother. 

It was such a beautiful wedding. All our loved ones and friends were present to witness my sister enter into her new title as wife. The spirit of the wedding was love, love, and more love. I guess it was so beautiful because this particular sister was never into romance, horse and carriage, or fairytale love stories, so to witness this beautiful day full of all the things she never really believed in was... awesome. :)

Well, not only was the tears flowing down our faces, but my dad got a little teary-eyed as well. Right in the middle of the ceremony my dad had to stop for a quick second to wipe his tears! I couldn't believe it! Not dad. My dad is ALWAYS laughing. Our relationship is full of jokes and light discussions about current affairs. I've never seen my dad cry before this event. Wow! I was amazed and I managed to snap the pic in the midst of my tears and I'm sure someone caught it on video.

Awwwwe, love can do that for you. Love today. Express Love. Don't withhold your Love, for surely it is a beautiful thing to witness. Enjoy your family and capture the moments because you don't know when you'll have to say good bye.
